Throughout her career, Sallie has demonstrated exceptional work ethic and a passion for continuous improvement. While serving on the Communications Coordinator Desk, she successfully reduced case levels well below required thresholds and developed standardized templates that enhanced efficiency and consistency across the department. Her outstanding contributions earned her the prestigious Pearl Award, recognizing employees whose “pearl-like behavior” delivers exceptional value and elevates the agency. Recently promoted to Rail Traffic Controller, Sallie continues to distinguish herself as a calm, highly skilled professional who leads with competence, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to safety and service.
Sallie is also an active and influential member of the Southern California chapter of the National Association of Railway Business Women (NARBW). Her leadership and service within the organization include redesigning and launching the NARBW SoCal website to increase visibility and engagement; assisting with the Warrior for Children Christmas toy donation drive; leading participation in the Domestic Violence Awareness Walk hosted by Shelter’s Right Hand; and supporting the Beanie Babies collection drive for the NARBW Houston National Convention. She serves on NARBW’s National Publications Committee and holds the role of SoCal NARBW Welfare Committee Chairperson. Her creativity, reliability, and heartfelt service continue to strengthen the organization’s mission and community impact.
Beyond her professional and organizational achievements, Sallie is deeply committed to youth development and community service. She volunteers at Charter Oak High School, supporting the swim team snack bar and attending every swim meet and water polo match. She coaches AYSO 8U boys soccer (Green Dolphins) and supports Girl Scouts of the USA Troop 13246 through initiatives such as the Thanksgiving Food Drive and Field of Valor Veterans Day event. As a leader with Cub Scout Pack 457, she organizes the annual Christmas ornament decorating project, coordinates holiday donations, and managed the Pack 457 bake sale that raised $1,100. She also serves as PTA Treasurer at Glen Oak Elementary School, contributing her organizational and leadership skills to benefit students and staff.
Across every organization she touches, Sallie brings energy, compassion, and a willingness to serve wherever she is needed. She is a respected role model in the rail industry, a champion of community engagement, a mentor and leader within NARBW, and a devoted mother and advocate for youth programs.
